It is our biblical persuasion that being born-again is a spiritual
matter. Jesus said, "That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that
which is born of the Spirit is spirit." (John3:6).
When a person is born, they are born into a fleshly, carnal state.
But in that body dwells a soul, and a spirit. When a person finds the
grace of God, and repents of their sins, they become born-again, or as
Jesus said, "born of the Spirit".
We believe that because salvation is a spiritual matter, the flesh
cannot determine when the soul becomes saved. In other words, we feel
that God must move in that person's heart through the Holy Spirit. Jesus
said, "No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw
him;" (John 6:44).
Therefore fleshly affairs such as good works, good deeds, good morals,
church membership, tithing, or family relationships can never allow
someone to be spiritually born-again.
A man, woman, boy, or girl, at the appointed time when God convicts
their hearts, then, and only then have the opportunity of salvation. When
we are convicted and then pray to God for forgiveness, the Bible tells us
He is faithful and just to forgive us, and he can no longer remember our
sins that formerly separated us from Him. "Whosoever shall call upon the
name of the Lord, shall be saved." (Rom 10:13).
Because of His death of Calvary, His resurrection from the grave, and
His ascension back to the Father, we can have the assurance that Jesus is
Who he said He is- He is, was, and will always be God.
So is your faith in fleshly matters, or do you have assurance that you
have been spiritually born-again? If you are concerned about your soul,
and where you will go when you die, contact us, or leave a prayer request. This is not just the most important issue of this life, but
also of the one to come.
